The Moretons team completed a comprehensive redevelopment that converted a large retail space into four chic studio apartments.
Having determined the property would be more profitable as residential accommodation, we decided to reconfigure the space from its previous commercial use. The development required planning permission to achieve, which we applied for and obtained without complication.
Subdividing the space, we created four individual studio apartments within the building, situating them to the rear of the premises to provide convenient access to an area previously used only for deliveries. Ranging in size from 400 sq ft upwards, the apartments were finished in a bespoke loft style, featuring Knightsbridge exposed slip brick work and Santini Gloss Anthracite kitchens with copper rod handles and Exilis Woodstone Grey work surfaces. A bright and airy ambience was achieved with the inclusion of sash windows and decorative pendent lighting on an industrial grid system.
The apartments secured tenants prior to completion, letting at above-market levels of £1,200 pcm, resulting in the provision of a group of high quality properties to the Brighton & Hove lettings market without the occurrence of void periods.
